Rami was a talented athlete in the fields he chose, loved riding horses and participated in dozens of horse racing competitions in which he won prizes and first places, himself raised horses and dreamed of an independent horse farm. Played goalie in Ramat Hen, and in his last year in power was the Porter Ramat Gan. In February 1976 he joined the army and volunteered for the paratroopers Force. He successfully completed his training course, completed a commanding course, and in January 1977 he was promoted to Corporal. Afterward, he was sent to an officer’s course, which he successfully completed, and in August 1977 he rose to the rank of lieutenant.Ramy took part in the Litani operation in which he led his platoon on the battlefield, He completed his regular service with the rank of lieutenant and began to work with his father in a publishing house owned by his parents and devoted himself to his role as director of the distribution department, while continuing to pursue his hobbies as a sculptor, painter, And as a horse-rider, with the outbreak of the Peace for Galilee war, Rami was called up for reserve duty as commander of the paratroopers’ division In the second battle, on June 9, 1982, his unit stormed the fortified positions of the enemy with a slippery eye, and Rami was severely wounded, and another ten soldiers were injured, and four hours later, efforts were made to rescue the wounded from the battlefield. He died on 25 June 1982. He was buried at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul in Tel Aviv, leaving behind his parents, brother and sister. Ariel Sharon wrote to his family: “Rami was an excellent officer, a brave and beloved fighter for everything.” The commander of his unit, Moshe Sela, who later fell in combat in Lebanon, wrote to his family: “Rami was loved by his soldiers as a member who instilled in them a joy of life and as a commander performing his duties with complete faith in his way and deeds.” In memory of Rami, four volumes of “The History of the Paratroopers” by Uri Milstein, which were published by his family, were dedicated.
