Son of Avraham and Irit Mandler. He was born on April 19, 1947 in Afula. As a member of Kibbutz Sarid in the Jezreel Valley, Amiram grew up in a tradition and ideals of building the land, working the land, and social equality. He completed elementary and high school studies at the kibbutz educational institution. During the high school period he was also included and contributed his time and energy to the entire society. He was naturally a quiet, introverted and very modest child, but everyone loved him and was acceptable to the children of his age and a favorite of the adults. In his youth he was a member of Hashomer Hatzair and served as a counselor. He was an avid sports enthusiast and especially liked swimming. Yes, he was a music lover and played the saxophone for his pleasure. Amiram was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in November 1965. After completing his entrance exams, he was sent to an aviation course, overcoming the difficulties of the course and the stubborn and persistent effort that ended. Amiram was loved by his teammates who always knew that he could count on him to “give a shoulder”, get out of his way, To the aid of others, and never to stand as an onlooker in times of distress His commanders had appointed his superior ability to lead people and command them. And his high quality as a pilot and professional. In 1968 Amiram married and established a home in Israel. Two years later he became a father. In 1971, the pilot, Phantom, was the peak of the ambitions of a pilot in the Israel Defense Forces, and he also fought in the Yom Kippur War, when he flew for an attack in Suez, In 1975, Amiram decided to change his profession in the Israel Defense Forces and to become an experimental pilot, and he and his family went to England to study at the Royal School for Test Pilots, and after returning to Israel he returned to Israel as an experimental pilot.
