Sha’ib, Matzliach (Tufik)


Mazal and Rachamim was born on 14.2.1930 in Aleppo, Syria. When he was 6 years old, he immigrated to Israel with his parents and the family decided to live in Jerusalem. participated in the defense of Ramat Rachel and the neighborhood of Talpiot, and on March 7, 1948, he was a paramedic in a convoy of supplies to the detachable Hartuv. On the way, the convoy was ambushed by a large Arab gang. In the fierce battle, he succeeded with an uncommon courage in helping the wounded, and in the course of his duty he was injured and killed. His body and his friend’s bodies were brought to Jerusalem by the British police and were buried in Sanhedria. On the 5th of Elul 5711 (6.9.1951), he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
