Shahar (Schwartz), Amos


Amos, son of Mordechai and Sarah Shahar, was born on November 10, 1944, in the Nir-Am group. He enlisted in the IDF in August 1962 and volunteered for the Paratroopers Brigade and was promoted to the Golani Brigade, where he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. On the sixth day of the Six Day War, on the 2nd of Sivan 5767 (June 10, 1967), Amos fell. Amos was a dedicated commander to his soldiers and did everything he was asked to do with great care and will. He put down a wife. He was buried in the emergency military cemetery in Bari and later transferred to the eternal cemetery in the Nir Am group.
