Shafir, Chen

Chen, the youngest son of Lily and Uzi Shafir, was born in Ramat Gan in 1993. Chen grew up to be a polite, pleasant, honest, sociable man with a few close friends. On March 13, 2012, Chen enlisted in the IDF and began his basic training in the Kfir infantry brigade. Chen fell in the line of duty on 8 Elul, August 26, 2012, during basic training. He was nineteen years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, Tel Aviv. Survived by his parents and three brothers. Chen is commemorated among all the fallen soldiers of the Kfir Brigade at the Afula Brigade Memorial Site.
