Son of Rivka and Israel, was born on April 20, 1911 in Kolno, Poland to a family of merchants and artisans. Avraham studied in a “cheder” in an elementary school and a Polish high school. As a member of the Hashomer Hatzair movement, he wanted to immigrate to Israel and live a kibbutz life. From childhood he has a talent for painting and playing (violin).
