Shacham (Weinraub), Yoram


The only son of Heinrich and Dorothea. He was born in Bucharest, Romania, on September 7, 1946. He immigrated to Israel with his family in 1951, was accepted to the high school in Rishon LeZion and soon became absorbed in the youth society. After completing his high school studies, he began studying at the Faculty of Structural Engineering at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In Haifa and a year later he left his studies there in order to enlist in the IDF as a security guard. Yoram was drafted into the IDF in August 1964. In the course of the course he was an excellent trainee, both as a good soldier and as a good commander, and when he completed his officers’ course he was left to train cadets. He was a favorite of all his friends, both commanders and cadets, who fought in Judea and Samaria during the Six-Day War, and returned to his studies until the beginning of the school year. Who did not finish the course and was considered among the best students during his studies Dr. B. Adler of the Technion wrote on the list that “at the same time, after completing his third year of studies, he began working at the Technion as a research assistant, developing computer programs for solving a number of problems Flow, heat transfer and mass, and Yoram was a favorite of his friends and teachers, and he was one of those rare people who quickly became familiar with their acquaintances and acquired their trust – . Since he received a deferral of service and was not called up for reserve duty, he insisted that he be called up for reserve duty and volunteered to serve in the commando unit. After many requests, the reserve service was approved for him – and at the end of the first reserve period called for Sharett, on the 9th of Kislev, 9/12/1969, . He laid a pregnant wife. His son was born eight months after they fell. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His name was established at the Technion, in the library of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, with a corner devoted to general useful books; In the gymnasium in Rishon Letzion, his name is engraved on the monument commemorating the fallen.
