Shabli, Hassan
Son of Sa’ada and Joseph. Hassan was born in 1936 in the village of Shibli, located at the foot of Mount Tabor. Hassan grew up and was educated in the village and attended the Shibli elementary school. From an early age Hassan was a leader. He loved the country and wanted to serve in the security forces like the rest of his family, who impressed him with the great contribution they made to the security of the state and its residents. On January 12, 1971, Hasan enlisted in the Border Police and was a dedicated and loyal policeman. He performed the tasks in a proper manner, moved up the ranks and even reached the rank of sergeant. Hassan was endowed with leadership and dedication. Hassan married his father Ida and they had four sons – Atef, Adnan, Nour and Neil, and three daughters – Noel, Miriam and Friel. Hassan loved his family and made sure that his children received an education to love the land and respect others. Hassan also loved his village, and he helped greatly in promoting the affairs of the village and took care of the welfare of the residents and the young people of his village. Hassan was proud of his uniform and service and was an example of exemplary behavior and role model. On January 24, 1987, during his vacation, Hassan drove his car on Route 65 near Kaduri, in the direction of Mount Tabor. On the way he felt ill and died instead of a Lev attack. First sergeant Hassan fell during his service. He was fifty-one years old when he fell. He was buried in the cemetery in Shibli. He left behind a wife and seven children, parents, brothers and sisters. Some of Hassan’s children continued their father’s tradition after his fall and enlisted in the security forces.
