Shabbat, Ephraim (Effi)

Ephraim (Effi), son of Stella and Morris, was born on 26.6.1954 in Ramat Gan. Effi was drafted into the IDF in early February 1973 and assigned to the Israel Air Force. On the 11th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973), he volunteered to go to the Hermon post and to fill the position of an electronics technician. After the fighting broke out he tried to make his way toward our forces on the Golan Heights. In this action he was injured and killed. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents and two sisters. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
