Seroussi, Jonah
Son of Naji and Rachel. Born in 1954 in Gabes, Tunisia, immigrated to Israel with his family in 1963. He studied at Yesodot Elementary School and completed his studies at the religious-municipal high school in Be’er Sheva. He was an active member of the youth club near the school, excelled in sports and was a strong player in the field of soccer as a player in the youth groups and was a quiet, introverted boy with a small circle of friends. Yona enlisted in the IDF in mid-October 1972. On the 17th of Tishrei 5723 (17.10.1972), he died during his service. He was laid to rest in the military section of the cemetery in Be’er Sheva. In his memory a memorial corner was erected in the high school where he studied; His parents donated a Torah scroll to the synagogue where they usually pray in Be’er Sheva.
