Son of David and Zimbul. Born in Izmir, Turkey, on May 12, 1932, he immigrated to Israel in 1948, after the great family lost her father’s livelihood, and when he arrived in Israel, he studied in the Maaleh Hahamisha group. , Completed his regular service and at the outbreak of the Sinai Campaign took part in it. After that, called to reserve duty from time to time, and this was also the case when the Six-Day War broke out. On the first day of the battles, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he went with his friend on the target, fought the enemy and fell by a bullet in the Shaykh Abdul Aziz in Judea. He left a wife and three children. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. The commander of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family, “that Lieto has burned his soul out of an unmatched courage out of a feeling of mission and destiny.”
