Son of Masuda and Yehia was born on February 5, 1962, in Moshav Yachini, near Sderot in the Negev, where the family sat on a plot of land that did not manage to support her, but despite his difficult economic situation, his parents made sure to provide their children with an elementary and comprehensive education Eliahu began his studies at the elementary school in his moshav, then went to study in Netivot, the Sha’ar Avraham school and the Education Ministry, and in August 1980 he joined the IDF. He paid a few professional courses, as a car mechanic and a fuel-pump mechanic. In June 1982 Eliahu was promoted to the rank of corporal and a year later to the rank of sergeant On August 16, 1983, Eliahu was in the military fuel pump when a truck appeared and its driver asked to light it. Eliahu checked the extinguishers in the truck, if they were in order. One of them, which was not normal, exploded, and Eliyahu was killed in the explosion. He was 21 years old when he died. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Moshav Yachini cemetery. Eliyahu left behind his parents, three sisters and two brothers. The commander of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family: “Elijah found his death in a work accident in the course of his duties, serving as a fuel pump mechanic, a job he performed loyally and lovingly, with a personal initiative.
