Segev (Segalstein), Ze’ev-Avraham


Zeev-Abraham (Karol), the only son of Magda and Nahum (Jan), was born on 17 July 1944 in Brasov, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 196 In 1973 he was awarded the title for his research on “Stability within the criterion of optimal threshold learning”.” When the Yom Kippur War broke out Ze’ev was drafted and sent with his unit to the front in Sinai. On the morning of the 10th of Tishrei 5734 (October 10, 1973), Ze’ev’s half-track hit a direct hit in the Firdan area, near Ismailia, where a shoulder-fired missile from the ambush hit him and Ze’ev was killed on the spot. His body was later discovered and he was brought to eternal rest in the Haifa cemetery, where he left behind a wife, a son, a daughter, and two parents.
