Segal, Yaakov


Son of David and Bracha. Was born on December 9, 1930 in Jerusalem to an old Jerusalem family. Visited the teachers’ seminary of “Hamizrahi” for a year and two years at the “BaMaleh” high school. He belonged to the Bnei Akiva movement and revealed a tendency to literature. He was drafted into the IDF in May 1948, and after completing his compulsory service, he entered the permanent army, was an operations officer in his battalion, a position in which he excelled, his cheerfulness, his good friendship and his serious attitude to work earned him a place of honor among the battalion officers. On 28.8.1952, in the course of his duties, he fell and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
