Segal, Raz


Ben Mira and Moshe. He was born on May 16, 1971 in Bat Yam. When he was two, his father fell in the Yom Kippur War. Eventually the family moved to the Ramat Aviv area and Rez grew up and was educated in this area. He completed his elementary studies at the David Yellin School in Tel Aviv, continued his studies at the Alliance School in Ramat Aviv and later moved to the Ostrovsky High School in Ra’anana, where he studied in the biological track. He was a great student and was very curious about everything. During this period his direction and desire to become a doctor in the future crystallized and since then he has spent his life around this axis. When he was young, he volunteered for MDA and was placed in an intensive care unit, where he was not on the duty list and spent many hours there, gaining impressive experience in resuscitation, heart attacks and ambulance deliveries. Despite his good grades, he was not accepted to medical school and decided to study chemistry, and after a year he retired from his studies. After the basic training period, he began a course for combat medics, and was successful. On 15 Kislev 5710 (2 December 1990) he fell during his service. He was buried in the Kiryat Shaul military cemetery. He left behind a mother, a brother – Sagi and a sister – Leahy.
