Segal, Oded
Son of Refael and Tzofia. He was born in Tiberias on the 6th of Tishrei, October 9, 1948. He attended the Agron School in Kiryat Hayovel in Jerusalem, and then, at the agricultural school “Hakfar Hayarok”. “He was modest, honest and kind, and loved to help his friends. In September 1966, he was drafted into the IDF and joined a paratroop brigade. He was a devoted soldier. He was able to help and cooperate in an agriculture that needed the hands of an agricultural school graduate, and an army man. He defended the life of his comrades; even when he was seriously wounded, he would not go on a stretcher because, he said that others needed it even more. He fell in the line of duty on the 26th of Elul, September 19, 1968. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. A booklet in his memory bearing his name was published after his fall.
