Segal, Moshe (Isaac)


Moshe (Isaac), ben Suzy and Jacob, was born on 16 July 1948 in Fernwald, Germany, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1950. He participated in the war in 1967 and was awarded the “Six Day War”, and a year later participated in the battle of Karameh. After being released from regular service, he was assigned to a reserve unit of the Armored Corps and was often called for reserve duty.When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Moshe was drafted and sent with his unit to the front in the Golan Heights. In a tank battle that took place on the 7th of Tishrei 5740 (7.10.1973) a missile hit his tank and Moshe was killed on the spot. At first, he was considered missing, but his body was later identified and he was brought to eternal rest in the Kiryat Shaul cemetery. Survived by a wife and son, parents and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to sergeant.
