Schwartz, Solly-Shalom


Soli, son of Dora and Shmuel, was born on October 19, 1945, in Bacau, Romania, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1964. Solly was drafted into the IDF at the end of May 1966 and assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he completed a basic training course for new immigrants, completed a field artillery course, completed a good grade, and was assigned to reserve duty as a field artillery officer in a field artillery battalion. He worked as a mechanic at Iscar in Nahariya and lived with his wife and son in Kiryat Haim, where he participated in the Six-Day War, and after a while he underwent another training and was assigned his position as a medium-sized mortars in the Field Battalion. And fought with it in the battle of containment against the Syrians (October 12, 1973) Solly was killed and killed in the shelling while standing on his duty south of Ein Zivan, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya, leaving behind his wife, son, parents and brother. Condolences to the bereaved family His unit commander wrote: “Solly was a good soldier and loved his comrades, and fulfilled his duties to the satisfaction of his commanders.”
