Michael (Mishka), son of Fania and Wolf, was born on February 28, 1947 in Pinsk, Russia, and immigrated to Israel with his parents and siblings in mid-May 1960. Michael completed his elementary studies in Russia, – High School for Agricultural Teachers in Petach Tikvah in the summer of 1967. He successfully passed the final exams. When he immigrated to Israel, he spent one year in Kibbutz Dalia, but did not become involved in the field, and he soon became acquainted with his teachers and classmates, who was close to nature and especially loved animals. His father told how Mishka came home with two little rabbits, who treated them with dedication and patience, but the weak rabbits died, and he refused to believe and accept the fact of their death. He was always a devoted son to his parents and a loving brother to Shimon and Gadi, who always helped with the housework, offered good advice and sang a lot of joy and happiness to his family. ” Mishka was the main artery in our system, “says Father, who was a tall, thin lad with brown curls and green eyes, full of wisdom and love for people and animals. After basic training he took a driving course and served as a truck driver. He was a good soldier, and his comrades were well known. “You can count on Mishka,” everyone said. They knew he would risk his life for them, not to spare himself and not to save sleep from his eyes to ease them. In the fall of 1970, at the end of his compulsory service, he was released and assigned to reserve duty. He began studying at the engineering school in Ohel Sara. A strong desire to learn and to move forward guided him. At the same time, he also worked for the Department of Public Works and in 1975 he married his girlfriend Miriam. After his marriage Mishka began working on the experimental farm “Neve Ya’ar” of the Ministry of Agriculture and liked the staff and managers there. One of his colleagues said: “I knew Michael as a diligent, responsible and devoted person, and I also saw him at times of enthusiasm, and I remember those moments when he overcame the precise calibration problems of the experimental spraying. The smoothness of the weeds that were spawned by a successful and coordinated spraying, and especially when the spraying was done by his hands. ” At the end of March 1973, Miriam and Mishka were born to their eldest son, Eitan, and his wife said that Mishka was a devoted husband and an exemplary father. He proudly said that when he grew up with them he would teach him how to drive.
