Michael (Mickey), son of Sarah and Peretz, was born on May 6, 1952 in Magdiel. He was a very talented boy and spent much of his spare time painting and sculpture. He had a gentle and sensitive soul and he could see the beauty of the simplest things. Already as a student at the school, he was evident in his talent and was active in organizing the parties at his school, designing the stage for plays and preparing paintings for the decoration of the class. He was the driving force in every action that took place in the school and was very popular with his friends. By nature, he loved people and animals, and out of benevolence and kindness came to the aid of others when necessary. From his youth he was a member of the Zionist youth movement, loved the country and traveled extensively in Merhavia. Michael was drafted into the IDF in early 1970 and asked to volunteer for the Armored Corps, where he enlisted in readiness and recognition, and wanted to be a soldier who could contribute to his country.
