Shaul, son of Shoshana and Yitzhak, was born on September 17, 1951 in Haifa. Even when he was a child he was tall and handsome, sharp in his mind and kind to those around him. He attended elementary school at the “Samet” high school in Haifa, where he studied in the Electromechanics program and graduated with honors, Shaul, or Shauli as everyone called him, loved to play the accordion, and during his free time or vacations he used to take the accordion to his hands without prior notice, and his music excitedly attracted his family and friends, and was a source of attraction and admiration for the neighbors and the children of the neighborhood and all his loved ones. Shauli was blessed with golden hands and with a talent for craftsmanship and nationalism, and decorated his home with handmade lamps with a unique touch, made of steel and metal and colored glass pieces of his own creation, he also built stereophonic amplifiers, he loved to help his family, and everything he took on himself was meticulous. He was always active and happy and delighted those around him, and the spirit was always at the center of things, full of energy and enthusiasm. Shaul was drafted into the IDF in mid-October 1969 and volunteered for an aviation course, and after fourteen months he was assigned to another unit in the Israel Air Force, where he underwent a parachuting course, electronic equipment operators course, an officer training course. , Who is efficient in his work and has a high level of professionalism, his friends in the unit know how to tell about his handiwork, in which he decorated the walls of the rooms, about his full and fluent conversation, about the joy of life that was in him. He knew how to demand from his subordinates what he deserved and to fight for their rights until he gets it “He loved the country and his role very much, and his commanders tell him that he was an excellent officer When he arrived at the time of his release, in mid-October 1972, he volunteered for regular army service, but only managed to do one year, he prepared to study electrical engineering at the Technion and to build his future together with his beloved girlfriend Tami. During the Yom Kippur War, Shaul served as an operations officer on an airplane in an air force base. On the day of his departure, On Friday, 12 October 1973, when he was on his way out, his plane was hit in the Um-Hikka area, and Shaul fell.- he was braught to rest at the Haifa Military Cemetery. Survived by his father, mother and two brothers. In a letter of condolence sent to his family, Defense Minister Moshe Dayan wrote: “Shaul was defined as a good, dedicated, efficient and popular officer.”
