Schneider, Oded

Son of Simcha and Elisheva. Born on 25.12.1927 in Petach Tikvah, he studied at the Ahad Ha’am Gymnasium in the settlement and later at the Shevach School in Tel Aviv, and at an early age joined the ranks of the Haganah as a liaison He participated in the War of Independence and was extremely courageous and devoted to the task of preserving the security of the country and its inhabitants. He was simply in his actions and his behavior and acted with paternity for the hundreds of youth who were under his guidance and under his command. The Gadna-Ono division was organized by him and as a commander he nurtured and cared for her, devoted all his time and thought to him, he did great things and worked extensively in the merger of the new immigrants from the west and the east, but in particular he labored and invested his energies in the Eastern communities – the immigrants, who learned from him the first words in the Hebrew language, the first Hebrew song, their basic knowledge in the history of the country, and that helped them to strike roots in the homeland, many of which were the courses that led them and always inspired them from his spirit.
