Schnabel, Dov-Eliahu (“Dubi”)
Son of Zeev and Shoshana, one of the founders of Kibbutz Sde-Nahum. He was born on 27.6.1941 in Sde-Nahum, where he studied until the twelfth grade at the local school and the last year of high school studies at the school in Ein Harod. In the farm he would devote himself to plantations and fishing. He belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement. In May 1959 he went with his sons to serve in the Israel Defense Forces, where he was assigned to the infantry brigade, and his meticulousness in carrying out his duties. And participated in the parade of twenty soldiers from Eilat to Metula – a trip to examine the effect of food and drinks on a combat soldier. In the middle of the course, when the IDF launched a combat operation against the Syrians who shelled the Tel Katzir farm, he volunteered and went to participate in an operation to ensure the peace of the settlers in the Jordan Valley. , Fell and was brought to rest at the cemetery in Sde-Nahum. A booklet in his memory was published by Sde-Nahum on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of his death.
