Schmitt, Kurt


Son of Jacob and Bebvita. He was born on August 26, 1818 in Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany. Kurt immigrated to Israel in 1935. In Palestine, he became an electrician and a mechanic, acquired his knowledge by self-study, and became a foreman in a factory in Ramat Gan, and later became a technical manager of a factory in Nahalat Yitzhak. Kurt was a member of the Haganah, served in the volunteer transport, and later moved to service at the Tel Aviv District Headquarters. On the 25th of Nissan, April 23, 1949. in the course of his mission he fell and was brought to eternal rest In the Nahalat Yitzhak military cemetery.
