Schechter, Pinchas

Son of Sara and Alter, was born on March 8, 1915, in Zichron Ya’akov. While still a child, he was sent to the Diskin orphanage in Jerusalem, where he grew up and was educated. In his youth, he found his way to Hanoar Haoved, which helped him learn a profession and he was given the opportunity to expand his education. On 15 Adar, February 25, 1948, gang members ambushed him on his way home. A few hours later, he died of his wounds at the hospital in Tiberias. He was brought to the farm for burial. He left behind a wife and two children. On the 7th of Tishrei 5729 (28.9.1960) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Afula.
