At the age of two, he first entered the kindergarten but refused to stay there and therefore, for the next two years, remained at home. At the age of two and a half, he was already a regular “host” and used to “serve” guests bread, salt and bottles of drinking, and everyone boasted of his generosity and generosity. When she wanted to visit the kindergarten regularly, he was portrayed as a hero. Yigal was the most beautiful boy in the garden and very fond of the teacher and the children. Five years old was Yigal when his brother Ami was born, and he is already independent and has an excellent memory. He began his elementary studies at the Ort Lataf school in Givat Olga, and when he reached fifth grade the family moved to Hadera and Yigal began studying at the Arlozorov Elementary School in Hadera. Here he quickly integrated, loved everyone, and enjoyed himself. Many stories were told about Yigal’s courage, the resourcefulness he displayed in various situations, and the concern and responsibility he displayed for his family. One memorable episode took place in the summer of 1970, at the age of nine. The family went to the sea. Yigal and Ilana were playing at the beach, and suddenly the two children noticed that the parents and brother Ami had been caught in a whirlpool and were drifting in the stormy sea. Yigal did not hesitate: he jumped into the water and dived under the waves in an attempt to reach his loved ones and save them. Soldiers who heard Ilana’s crying came to the rescue, took the family and brought them to the beach, thus avoiding a terrible disaster. Yigal’s independence and maturity continued after that: when he was ten, he broke his hand during a soccer game and came to the clinic alone, where his hand was taken. He bore his pain bravely and his mother testified that he had never complained of pain or distress. In his youth, Yigal was always at the head of the group and was the mainstay of society. He was a talented soccer player and played as a pioneer in Hapoel Hadera’s “Chicks” team. He also specialized in table tennis, participated in national competitions and reached second place. But his main hobby was helping others, and Yigal realized this in all ways and possibilities. When he reached high school, Yigal chose to study in a vocational school and moved to the Amal high school in Hadera. Later he decided to move to the “Onim” pre-military school in Kfar Sava, but did not live in the boarding school there, but studied in an external framework. From there, with an excellent certificate, he moved to the IAF Technical School in Haifa and in 1978 completed his high school studies. Yigal enlisted in the IAF in early March 1979 and embarked on a long-standing military career in the field of land services – as a direct continuation of the track he began. Yigal was “poisoned” by the army and always preached in favor of military service. At the beginning of the road, when he was stationed in a ground services unit at the Rafidim base in Sinai, his commanders took in the spark and already received a certificate of appreciation from the base commander. In February 1980, following the evacuation of Sinai, he was transferred to the Hatzor base, where he received a basic medal from the base commander for his significant contribution to the evacuation. In December 1980, Yigal was transferred to the “Etzion” base and was placed in a ground services unit. In 1982, following the signing of the peace agreement with Egypt and the completion of the evacuation from Sinai, the Etzion Air Force base was transferred to Uvda, and Yigal moved to serve in the base squadron. In 1984 he decided to take a break from service in the regular army, but his natural place was in the IAF and therefore returned to his post after eleven months. In June 1985 Yigal met Ronit, then a military medic who served at the Hayoun base, and their love soared. Only six months after their acquaintance, on 22 December 1985, they married and set up their home in the southern city of Eilat. Yigal was a warm and loving family man who always cared for his parents, his sister Ilana and his brothers Ami and Benny, and now that they are building a house, he could wrap his family in a warm and loving way. Yigal, Ronit testified, had a husband who was a true friend, who knew how to pamper himself, was involved in the children’s lives, and nothing escaped him. Roy, the eldest son of Yigal and Ronit, was born on 19.11.1987 and made Yigal a happy and proud father. In 1988, despite the change in the designation of the “Uvda” base, Yigal’s request to remain at the base was accepted and he was transferred to a ground service unit in the maintenance squadron, where he served as the commander of a network cable and squadrons. In 1992, and was appointed head of the Land Services Division. On August 2, 1992, the couple embraced their second son, Snir, named after the kibbutz and the northern stream, where they used to travel every summer, and the second name of the Hermon. In 1994, after nine years of living in Eilat, the family moved to the “Uvda” family housing project. Here, on March 8, 1996, her daughter Shilai (“my gift”) was born, and so they waited after two sons. Yigal was so happy with her birth that he persuaded Ronit to buy her a diamond for giving birth to a daughter like that. He ran in a happy hallway, jumped up with joy and shouted, “I have a daughter, I have a daughter!” In September 1996, he set out for academic studies. Having an international system vision, it was only natural that he should study international business administration. Yigal enjoyed his studies very much and in 1998 completed his undergraduate studies. In October 1998, he received the rank of senior sergeant in 2000. In the year 2000, on the occasion of Roy’s first visit to the mitzvot, the whole family traveled to the United States and traveled from coast to coast for a whole month. As the family’s most beautiful and unique family experience, the family moved to Kibbutz Ketura in the summer of 2002. Shortly thereafter, Yigal received the rank of commander of the Israel Air Force at the time, Major General Dan Halutz. Yigal’s entire adult life was devoted to the common good. He performed all his tasks professionally and completely, and out of a rare devotion expressed, among other things, by his concern for his soldiers and his outstanding contribution to every issue. Yigal was attentive to the soldiers and his house was open to all. He initiated and promoted projects for the benefit of the entire base and for the welfare of the individual, and made his mark on every corner of the “Ovda” base. It was not for nothing that he was called a bulldozer, an army of one person, king of the world and other names. Throughout his service, he received countless praise and compliments and warm opinions from all his commanders throughout the generations. Yigal won all of his military service as an outstanding candidate, and recently, on the IAF’s 1997 day, Yigal won the title “Outstanding Anti-Israel”; In September 2001 he was awarded an outstanding flight from abroad and in September 2004 he was invited to participate in an outstanding meeting with the Minister of Defense. Yarin, the youngest son of Yigal and Ronit, whose name symbolizes joy and happiness, was born on September 15, 2004, when Yigal is no longer in good health. He had the privilege of seeing his birth and, as usual, continued to care for everyone while struggling with his illness. But the journey of his life full of successes and hope was cut off, and the longing, the memories and the legacy remained. Yigal fell in the line of duty on February 16, 2005, at the age of forty-four, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kfar Sava with many companions accompanying him on his last journey, leaving Raya, three sons and a daughter, , A sister and two brothers: “So many people around here and yet someone is missing!
