Sasson, Yehezkel


Son of Nuri and Salima. He was born on February 22, 1946 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. The family immigrated to Israel in 1954. Yehezkel attended elementary school in Nes Ziona. Where he belonged to the Hanoar Haoved movement and spent the evenings devoting himself to sports – especially boxing. When he graduated from elementary school in Nes Ziona, he continued at the Haviv high school in Rishon Letzion and in the morning he worked. After two years he moved to the Israeli College in Rehovot where he studied electronics with great success. During the third year of his studies, the director of the Weizmann Institute volunteered for a summer vacation at the Weizmann Institute. At the end of each month he received additional recommendations, and together with them he was given a financial gift. He liked to deal with electrical jobs, dismantled and connected electrical tools, and liked hobbies such as radio, transistors, television antennas, etc. In August 1965, he enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces and joined the Navy, where he volunteered to serve in the submarines, and in July 1966 he was ordained as a diver, and he enjoyed swimming for many hours.
