Sasson, Kalman (Sisu)


Was born on April 12, 1929 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, on April 1, 1930. When he was about a year old, his parents immigrated to Israel, grew up in Jerusalem, completed an elementary school of “Kol Yisrael Haverim” He studied electricity and specialized in radio repairs, was naturally quiet and modest, talked a little and did a lot, and was clever and talented and loved his profession, which he aspired to become an electric engineer. 1948. He served in the Haganah in Jerusalem and was in various defense positions. He was wounded a few times and hid it from his parents. Two days before he fell, he had last visited the house, and although he was not in good health, he did not want to stay there for another day, so as not to be absent from the battle. During this battle he suffered a serious wound in his head and died three hours later, on May 19, 1948. In his pocket was a talisman that his mother had given him before he left, and he believed in his luck and was not afraid. 28 Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) was transferred to eternal rest in the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
