Son of Moshe and Frida. He was born on November 18, 1953 in Kibbutz Lohamei Hagetaot. He studied at the elementary school in his kibbutz and graduated from the “Sulam Tzur” school in Gesher HaZiv. The studies were not my people’s great love, but there were areas in which he was very ambitious and devoted all his energy and energies. His dedication to sport was great and when he decided to devote himself to the basketball game, he devoted countless hours to training. Ami reminds his classmates as a small, sensitive, vulnerable and easily offended child. This sensitivity is remembered only from childhood. As the years passed, he learned to restrain himself and to conceal his feelings. In the higher grades, his activities grew in the life of the student company. Organizing trips and various operations. As early as his childhood, Ami stood out for his organizational abilities; On every trip, a camp or operation takes on the organization of food and equipment supplies. He was attached to the animal corner and his devotion to the animals and to any other branch he was involved in was praised in the kibbutz. He loved nature, traveled a lot in the country and used to get up early to see the sun rise. Though strong and tough, he had a tendency for sentimentalism and romance. From an early age, he made sure that he was well-groomed. As his classmates say: “The comb did not go out of his pocket.” During his high school years, Ami began to engage in diving, and in the course of time he became absorbed in this business. He acquired great skill in diving. The study of marine archeology and the knowledge of flora and fauna at sea. The smile was part of my people, and he accompanied him wherever he did. He had optimism and faith in goodness, and the ability to communicate easily with people and become popular with people. Ami was drafted into the IDF in November 1972, and following his success in the Marine Corps, he volunteered to serve as a submarine in the Navy’s Navy Squadron. After that, he took a diving course at all levels and joined the naval commandos as a combat diver. His friends in the hard courses and the number-telling unit: “All along the way my people were organized and well organized, but whoever gets the impression that Ami was a kind of obedient and polished soap man is wrong. Ami did not want to be an officer in the Israel Defense Forces because he wanted to avoid command and training positions – he preferred to participate in operational activities. ” “I’m waiting for that wonderful moment that I’ll be in my room, I’ll hear quiet music and I’ll have a cold drink, I really fell in love with this room, and every moment makes me feel Simcha,” he wrote. On October 31, 1975, he fell with me in the course of his duties. He was laid to rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Lohamei Hagetaot. Survived by his parents, two brothers and a sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “My people were endowed with character traits: courage, dedication, common sense and brilliant analytical ability – in addition to their excellent physical abilities. Line because of his high skills and abilities. ” Ami’s family published a pamphlet in his memory containing memories of his childhood – memories raised by his parents and friends on the kibbutz.
