Sarel, Benaya

Biniya, son of Michal and Shalom Hacohen Sarel, was born on 24 August 1987 in Hebron. On June 5, 2006, Biniya joined the IDF, serving in the Givati ​​Brigade as a combat soldier and as an officer, completed his compulsory service and continued to serve in the unit, and in June 2014, rocket fire from the Gaza Strip to Israel intensified. Biniya fell in Operation “Tzuk Eitan” on the 5th of Av Av 5764 (1.8.2014). With him were Lieutenant Hadar Goldin and First Sergeant Le-al Gidoni. Biniya was twenty-seven years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the Hebron cemetery. He is survived by parents, four sisters, three brothers and his fiancee. After his fall, Benya was promoted to the rank of Major.
