Sapir, Yitzhak
Ben Nehemiah and Shoshana Stolero. He was born on March 23, 1953 in Tel Aviv, where he studied and completed elementary and high school studies. In the middle of August 1971, he was drafted into the IDF and was assigned to the Artillery Corps, where he took part in a course for noncommissioned officers, a course for commanders, a rifle training course, and a basic officers’ course. In the course of the Yom Kippur War in which he took part, a special assessment was given to the officers by their commanders, and Yitzhak was told: “A very good officer fulfills his duty in an excellent manner. He fulfilled all the tasks entrusted to him. “Yitzhak saw his future in the IDF and volunteered for a regular army service, and he was then a lieutenant. On the 24th of Av 5734 (August 12, 1974) he fell in the line of duty. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He was 21 years old. Survived by his parents and two brothers.
