Sapir, Shlomo
Son of-Menachem-Yehuda and Chana. Was born on April 29, 1934 in Strasbourg, France. He immigrated to Israel in 1939. He began to study in an elementary school and after completing his studies he studied at the Max Payne vocational school. From the tender age he aspired to be a pilot and by the time he was 17 he had a civil license from the kibbutz he belonged to. He was drafted into the IDF in July 1952 and then attended the army high school for high school and later at the Institute for Education in writing. He completed his military aviation course as an outstanding trainee. During his service in the Israel Air Force he flew various planes and participated in the Sinai Campaign as an officer. Returned on a plane that was hit and landed safely, and in the course of his job saved the lives of people who were in critical condition when he brought them in a helicopter to the hospital. He reached the rank of major. In the course of his service, he fell on the 26th of Tammuz 5724 (6 July 1964) and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. He left a wife and a child.
