Samur, Nabil


Son of Na’ifah and Samur, he was born on February 22, 1963 in Shfaram in the Western Galilee. He studied at the elementary school in Shfaram, completed his studies with honors, and moved to junior high school at the Reali School in Haifa. He graduated from high school in Shfaram. Nabil hoped to continue his studies at the Faculty of Agriculture in Rehovot. As the eldest son of a large family, he was warmly treated and loved by all the family members. Everyone spoiled him and he grew up in an atmosphere of happiness. Nabil invested much of his talent and diligence in his studies and hobbies. On November 11, 1982, as a result of the explosion of a gas container in the military government building in Tire, the building collapsed, and dozens of IDF soldiers were killed in the explosion, including Nabil. He was laid to rest in the civilian cemetery in Shfaram, and at the family’s request his body was transferred a year later to the military cemetery in Isfiya. He was 19 when he died. He left behind his parents, two brothers and four sisters. A corner was named after him in the public library in Shfaram. His father published a pamphlet in his memory.
