Samara, Riyadh
Son of Asma and Sayid. He was born on June 15, 1963 in the village of Rama. He was a member of a Christian Arab family of seven children. He received his education at the school in his native village, where he completed ten years of study in the theoretical track. Although he was exempt from compulsory service, he volunteered to serve in the IDF and asked to volunteer for a selected unit, and his father, who served as a policeman in the Israel Prison Service, reinforced his desire to volunteer for the IDF. In December 1981, he volunteered for the IDF and underwent basic training in the Paratroopers Brigade, after which he was transferred to the Golani Brigade for a short period of time and was later assigned to the Artillery Corps. His commander, who recommended his promotion, wrote about him: “He was a very disciplined and efficient soldier with very high motivation, and when he enlisted in the IDF, he volunteered for the paratroopers.” In 1985 he married Periel and over the years Their three children, Raik, Rani and Randa, were born at the beginning of 1988. On the night of December 26, 1988, he was seriously injured in a traffic accident and spent a month fighting for his life at Rambam Hospital. On January 26, 1989, Riyadh died of his wounds. He was twenty-five years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the Bedouin cemetery of Majar-Marar. He was survived by Raya, two sons – Raik and Rani, daughter of Randa, parents, five brothers – Samara, Fuad, Imad, Amir and Rami, and a sister – Amira
