Salomon, Alda


Daughter of Daniel and Joya. She was born on May 22, 1952 in Jaffa. She studied at the Shivtei Israel School and at the Eshkolot high school in her hometown. She was a graceful, sociable girl and knew how to make friends and be liked by people. She was also a loving and dedicated daughter. There was no end to her love for her household and even when she was away from home she always tried to call to know how they were. She cared for her mother and her brothers and her mother Alda not only a daughter but also a good friend and soul mate. She would talk to her about anything in the world and tell her everything that was bothering her. Alda was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-April 1970. She served as a uniformed officer in a combat unit and was an exemplary soldier, who performed her duties with dedication and responsibility, and was honored and loved by soldiers and commanders. On Wednesday, July 26, 1971, Sergeant Elda fell while serving in the Golan Heights. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. After her death, the principal of her school eulogized her for her outstanding qualities, her disciplined and polite pupil, responsible for all her actions, and a good friend.
