Saliman, Yichye
Yichye, son of Hassan and Kadria Saliman, was born in 1917 in the village of Wadi Salim in Yemen. He immigrated to Israel with his family by airplane, as part of Operation Magic Carpet, in 1949. In December 1950, he was drafted into the IDF and served in the army for five years. On the 10th of Shevat (2.2.1955), while in reserve duty, Yichye was wounded and died of his wounds. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
