Saleh, Amjad

Ben Attaf and Hassan Mazid Saleh. Was born on October 12, 1973 at the height of the Yom Kippur War in the Druze village of Yirka, twin brother of Ashraf. He attended elementary school in the village and continued his studies in the local high school. He was a quiet, modest student. Amjad liked to help others. He was handsome, athletic, and bodybuilding. He was active in the Scout movement in the village. He liked to travel in nature and from childhood he loved birds. His main hobby was hunting and he often went on hunting trips in the Negev with his father. He was drafted into the IDF in December 1991 and was assigned to infantry training. Amjad fell while carrying out his duties on March 27, 1992 and was laid to rest at a military ceremony in the military cemetery in his village of Yirka. Survived by parents, four brothers and a sister – Nabiya, Ashraf, Majdi, Ayman, and Amira.
