Salach, Yousef

Yousef, son of Amira and Hussein Salach, was born in the village of Magar in the Galilee in 1971. He was a good student who loved to study. Yousef enlisted in the IDF and served in the Transportation Corps. Much of his work was spent in southern Lebanon, in the security zone that was under Israeli control after the first Lebanon War, and his commanders often praised him for his efforts and contribution to the unit. After his discharge from regular service, Yosef decided to join the Israel Police. Yosef served faithfully in the Shomron region of the police. Over the years he advanced to the rank of senior sergeant. Yousef fell in the line of duty on August 21, 2013, after an illness. He was forty-two years old and was laid to rest in the military section of the Magar cemetery.
