Sagi (Zilberberg), Chanoch
Son of Yehuda and Rivka. He was born on the 12th of Tishrei, October 11, 1943 in Rishon Letzion. He studied at the Chaviv school, and after graduating, he studied at the Kanot School, which is an agricultural school. Finally, he studied at the Yad Natan agricultural engineering school, in Acre, and became a certified agricultural instructor. He belonged to the United Movement, and was a member of Hapoel. He was drafted into the IDF, in July 1962, as part of the Nahal Brigade, and even there, participated in the IDF basketball championship, as a member of the Nahal team. He served in the Paratroops until his last day. His commanders always spoke of him with praise. He was a dedicated and loyal soldier, and volunteered for the most difficult tasks, because in his service, he felt that he was fulfilling a distinguished mission, and that gave him his courage and skill. He reached the rank of sergeant. He was loved by all because of his sincerity and modesty. He fell in the line of duty on the 8th of Elul, August 15, 1964. He was brought to eternal rest in the military section of the cemetery, in Rishon Letzion. His memory was mentioned in Uri Milstein’s book, “The Paratroop Wars.”
