Safadi, Muhammed
Son of Shafiqa and Sayid. Muhammad was born in Safed on 1 July 1920. He grew up as the eldest son of an extended family. From an early age Muhammad radiated leadership. He respected them all, and everyone gave him back warmly, with love and respect. As an adult, he was loved by all those around him, his good name went before him wherever he went. In 1949, Muhammad decided to enlist in the police force and did so willingly, happily, with pleasure and with love. Over the years he served in many police stations, close to home and far from him, and supported his family with pride and dignity.Muhammad Safri was killed while carrying out his duties on June 26, 1955. About a week earlier, on June 21, 1955, he was called for help, stood up without hesitation and took part in a police patrol in the area of Taybeh. During the tour he was shot by infiltrators from Jordan, seriously wounded and taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petach Tikva, where he died after five days. Muhammad was thirty-five years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the cemetery in Abatin, near Kfar Hasidim. Survived a woman and six children. Mohammed is commemorated at the Central Monument to the fallen of the Israel Police in Kiryat Ata.
