Sadi, Yeshayahu


Son of David, was born in 1929 in Izmir, Turkey. In 1945 he succeeded in realizing his dream of life and immigrated to Israel. In the winter of 1948, when the War of Independence broke out, Yeshayahu was admitted to the course for wireless operators and served in one of the units in the Alexandroni Brigade. He was the happiest person in the world when he managed to receive the news of the declaration of the state, and in tears of happiness passed the news to his friends on the radio. A few days later, when Yeshayahu returned from an action against the enemy line in the village of Tira, he was wounded by a stray bullet while on the farm of the Eitanim organization near Kfar Hess, where he fell on 11 Iyar, May 20, 1948 and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Tel Mond.
