Sacks, Isaac (Zaksi)

Was born on March 19, 1926, and immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1936. He completed an elementary and secondary school for commerce in Tel Aviv and at the age of 14 began to serve in the Hagana as a liaison and later The PID. He did not want to take courses and graduate, but to be a simple private. He did a year of service in Notre Dame in Kfar Giladi and the region, and according to his friends his virtues were revealed in his willingness to benefit others and in self-discipline. He also held responsible positions in helping the illegal immigrants on land routes in the northern borders. On behalf of the command, he was strongly asked to commit himself to another year of service and to go to a course for squad commanders, and he, loyal to his nature, preferred to serve as a common man and not stand out, but he accepted the request because of the gravity of the hour. He graduated cum laude and rose to the rank of corporal and later to the rank of regional sergeant and commander of a moving guard. Yitzhak instructed and educated new privates and became disciplined soldiers. After the additional year of service, the Haganah was offered command in part of the Galilee if he remained in the service. Out of his inclination to the technique, he thought he could be more useful after he had paid for the technology. He was admitted to the Technion and after completing two courses, he was about to move to the Aviation Department, but was recruited with the first hundreds of students to the Carmeli Brigade in December 1947. Yitzhak participated in the operations as a platoon commander and instructor in various courses and in the efficiency of his command and behavior. The act of revenge in the village of Tira was slightly injured. Served mainly in securing transportation to Haifa from the south. On the 16th of Adar I 5708 (February 16, 1948), soldiers of the Arab Legion fell in Khirba, on the way to Beit Oren, near Haifa, and were put to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa.
