Sabato, Shabtai
Shabtai, son of Rachel and Abraham, was born on September 12, 1950, in Cairo, Egypt, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1958. Shabtai was drafted into the IDF in November 1968, was placed in the Armored Corps. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, he demanded that he be drafted into a unit of armor, which participated in the battles of containment and the breakthrough against the army. In a battle with the Egyptians in the Sinai on October 25, 1973, Shabtai was killed near the city of Suez on the western bank of the canal, and was brought to rest in the Beer Sheva cemetery, leaving behind his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
