Saban, Tzemach


Tzemach, son of Miriam and Makhluf, was born on June 22, 1938 in Algiers and immigrated to Israel in 1962. He completed his elementary studies in Algeria at a French school. Until his enlistment in the IDF, Tzemach was the only breadwinner in his family, and he worked for many years as a mechanic, first as a garage mechanic, then as a mechanic and finally as a mechanic at the Yuval Gad factory in Ashkelon. The young couple built his home in the town of Ashdod, where Zemah ran his own grocery store, and was drafted into the IDF in June 1963, and was assigned to the engineering corps as a mechanic. In 1970 Tzemach completed a training course for Tzemach operators and served in reserve duty for active reserve duty On October 12, 1973, Tzemach was injured in a car accident at the Hebron junction and fell in the line of duty. Shaul left behind a wife and four children – Aliza, Patrick-Amram, Yosef-Arik, Yoram-Avraham, and was promoted to the rank of corporal.
