Saban, Amos (“Jojo”)


The only son of Isaac and Miriam. He was born on September 26, 1935, in Sfax, Tunisia. Where he studied at the Alliance school and later at a vocational high school in the Technion College. After graduating from the vocational school he was awake to work in his father’s workshop and thanks to his diligence, talent and loyalty, he had acquired a social status that pleased his parents who saw him as their future. Since the establishment of the State of Israel, he was excited to immigrate to Israel and joined Jewish youth movements in the Diaspora and even gained some knowledge of the Hebrew language – and in 1955 immigrated to Israel. Shortly after his immigration, he was drafted into the IDF (October 1956), and as a new immigrant he overcame all the difficulties, adapted himself and did everything he had to do with exceptional diligence and devotion. He was Simcha about his life, and in times of peace he was connected to security matters – and when the Six Day War broke out and Amos was called up for reserve duty, he was Simcha about it and told his friend Because until that day he had been ashamed of his wife and even of his little son whose friends had already gone to war – except for him See the Suez Canal, Egyptian shelling; it was on Friday Tammuz Tsc”z (07/14/1967). Amos left a wife and a little boy. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kfar Warburg
