Sabah, Moshe


Son of Shlomo (Salmon) and his memory. Was born on August 14, 1957 in the city of Casablanca, Morocco, together with his twin brother Albert. When he was six, the family immigrated to Israel. At first they settled in the Zichron Yaakov transit camp and after a short period of absorption they settled in Jerusalem. Moshe began studying at the Hameiri religious public school in the city. Although he was a sick child in his childhood influenced the atmosphere of the country for the better and he began to develop gradually became a strong, healthy and energetic and entrepreneurial. Moshe continued to study at the vocational high school in Kfar Batya and graduated as a mechanical-mechanical engineer. During his studies at the “High School” he was active in the Gadna framework, and he took great care of the country and took advantage of every hour available for short and long trips. His great love was folk dances and he specialized in them and was the main instructor in the folk dance class within the school. Before enlisting in his last year, Moshe joined the Nachal group that was supposed to join the Tekoa outpost near Herodion, in the Judean Desert, where he was drafted into the IDF in mid-January 1976, and joined the Nahal Brigade. He successfully completed a liaison course and was transferred to continue his service in the Tekoa settlement, where he contributed as much as he could to the development of the site and its transformation into a permanent settlement, and to discover his two great loves: the dance and the hikes. On the 28th of Tevet 5767 (December 28, 1976), during an excursion with his friends in Nahal Tze’elim, Moshe fell during his service. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by a mother and nine brothers and sisters. His family published a memorial booklet in his memory. His holding friends named after him the garden he founded and cultivated: ‘Gan Moshe’.
