Sabag, Massoud


Son of-Rahma and Moshe, was born on April 21, 1938 in Morocco, where he studied at the Alliance High School and completed his studies at the Mission High School, where he worked as a clerk in the Ministry of Finance in Morocco for 10 years. He immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1970 and studied in Hebrew at the Motzkin Ulpan, where he studied at the Haifa power station where he worked for five years, after which his family moved to Bat Yam. He worked as an accountant at the Makefet pension fund, and his colleagues described him as a diligent and committed person, and he continued to live with his parents and to make a living. His cost to Israel was transferred and transferred to a infantry unit. He underwent basic training and served briefly in his unit. In the reserve service, he fulfilled his duties loyally, and his commanders noted him as a good and disciplined soldier who effectively carried out his task. In December 1983 he was called up for reserve duty. He was stationed in a unit that dealt with ongoing security in Kfar Aza, in the south. On the 18th of Shvat 5744 (18.1.1984) he fell during his service. He was 45 when he died. Massoud was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Holon. Survived by his parents, two sisters and a brother. The commander of his unit wrote in a letter of condolence to his family: “Masoud was loved by his comrades in the company and was known as a soldier who performed his job to everyone’s satisfaction.” He was named after a Torah library at the Beit-Halahmi Yeshiva in Jerusalem
