Sabach, Isidore (“Izzy”, “Iziko”)


Son of Paul and Rebecca, came from the respected families in Izmir, Turkey. He was born on January 1, 1931. When he reached school age he studied there and completed elementary school, and then continued to study at the Alliance high school. In 1948 he immigrated to Israel with his family. When he arrived in Israel in October 1948, he was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces from the ship, because the War of Independence was then in full swing.Isidor participated in the War of Independence, underwent a sabotage course and was also a participant in the Sinai Campaign.Isidor was a resident of Yehud and since he was an athlete, Beitar football in his place. He found his livelihood in good behavior. Isidore was an outstanding social man, full of joie de vivre, considerate and benevolent. A smile was always on his face and expressed sincerity and honesty. He was very attached to his family and friends. He liked playing the guitar. From time to time he went to reserve service and at the outbreak of the Six-Day War was called to the flag. In a battle near Abu Agila in Sinai, he fought and was wounded when a mine was destroyed. He later died of his wounds at the hospital; It was on the third day of the fighting, on the 28th of Iyar 5727 (7.6.1967). Lay a wife, daughter and son; White is not yet full of his father’s fall.
