Sabach, Eliezer


Son of Mario and Queen. Born on 27.12.1953 in Uruguay. As a member of a religiously observant family, Eliezer studied elementary school in a Jewish school in Uruguay, and then studied for a year in a technical school. As a result of his brother’s immigration to Israel, in the framework of the “Youth Aliyah”, Eliezer stopped his studies and followed him in 1968. In Israel, he continued his studies in a Magdiel vocational school, specializing in electronics, Eliezer was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1972 and assigned to the Golani Brigade. After completing basic training and being ordained as a full-time combat soldier, he was placed in an elite reconnaissance unit. The unit underwent a paramedics course and participated as a paramedic in the battles that were fought on the Sinai front and on the northern front. Because of his participation in the war he was awarded the War of Yom Kippur. He was also decorated with the “Operational Service Certificate” for his long service on the borders. On the 25th of Tishrei 5736 (September 25, 1975), Eliezer fell in the cemetery of Kibbutz Gazit, where his brother left behind him and left behind his parents and brother in a letter of condolences to the bereaved family. Was one of the best of our sons – our fighters and always aspired to contribute from the best of his energy … while serving his country fell.
