Saad, Abraham


Son of Meir and Bida. Born on 6 May 1930 in Tiberias, he studied at the Ehrlich School in Shavakum, where he was active in sports and sports, and for a period of time he played in the Hapoel Tiberias football team. He loved to go to Lake Kinneret, to long-term marches, and at the end of May 1948, Avraham was drafted into the IDF. He took part in the battles for the liberation of the city of Tiberias and was entitled to wear the sign of independence. As part of the reserve service, Avraham took part in the Sinai Campaign, the Six-Day War and the Yom Kippur War. Yes, he passed various courses in the Engineering Corps and reached the rank of sergeant. On April 30, 1974, when he was in active reserve duty, Avraham was injured in a road accident, and on the 27th of Av 5734 (14.8.1974) he died of his wounds. He was laid to rest in the military section of Tiberias. He left behind a wife, five sons, two daughters, parents and three sisters. His family donated an embroidered curtain to the synagogue in Kiryat Shmuel in Tiberias.
